What has befallen this place to turn it so? What are these strange minions?

The ruins of Annuminas were at one time the greatest libraries of the ancient realm of Arthedain. Arthedain like Annuminas was besieged by The Dark Lord Saurons chief lieutenant, The Witch King. The Witch King, a foul ringwraith decimated this land around 1,000 years ago.

The Witch King laid these lands barren long ago, and has since moved on to other business I assume. Only recently Gondor sent our expedition to Annuminas to attempt to recover some of the ancient tomes of wisdom of its age.

Yes, the library contains within it a portal to a place known as The Well of Souls. The Well of Souls is the birthing place for all those people yet to come.

A foul demon of the ancient world, long forgotten since the dawning of the Light. Azagoth has been awoken and sent to defile the well of Souls. He will try to breach the portal! If he does, he will feast upon the unborn souls and massive still birth will be the result. You must stop Azagoth before he can breach the portal!
